“Mythic Quest” Season 4 and its new companion anthology series “Side Quest” have set their premiere dates at Apple TV+.
“Mythic Quest” will return for its fourth season on Jan. 29 with two new episodes, followed by one new episode weekly every Wednesday through March 26. All four episodes of “Side Quest” will then debut on March 26.
Variety exclusively reported that “Side Quest” (f.k.a. “Mere Mortals”) had been ordered to series at Apple back in December 2022. The show is said to follow the model of standalone episodes of “Mythic Quest” like “A Dark Quiet Death,” “Backstory!,” and “Everlight.” The official logline states that it “explores the lives of employees, players, and fans who are impacted by the game in an anthology format.” Rob McElhenney, Anna Konkle, Derek Waters, William Stanford Davis, Bria Henderson, Rome Flynn, Leonard Robinson, Gary Kraus, Annamarie Kasper, Esai Morales, Shalta Grant and more star in the leading roles across each episode.
McElhenney also stars in “Mythic Quest” alongside Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Danny Pudi, Ashly Burch, Imani Hakim, Jessie Ennis, and Naomi Ekperigin. The show originally debuted in 2020, while its third season concluded in January 2023.
Both series are produced by Lionsgate, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Ubisoft.
“Mythic Quest” was created by McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz. All three serve as executive producers, with McElhenney and Day doing so under their RCG banner. Michael Rotenberg and Nicholas Frenkel executive produce on behalf of 3Arts, with Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, and Gérard Guillemot executive producing for Ubisoft Film & Television. Hornsby is also an executive producer.
“Side Quest” is developed by and executive produced by Ashly Burch, John Howell Harris and Katie McElhenney, with Ganz, Rob McElhenney, Hornsby, Day, Todd Biermann, Frenkel, Rotenberg, Boykin and Genevieve Jones also serving as executive producers.
