Whether you've only watched this most recent season of Love Is Blind or you're an OG fan, you know that the cast and their off-screen drama seem to get messier and messier as the seasons go on.

If you watched Season 7, you know that Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis made it to the altar, and both said, "I do." However, before that happy ending, it was revealed just TWO WEEKS before their wedding that Tyler was a sperm donor to a friend, technically meaning he has three biological kids.

This news shocked viewers, and of course, social media did not hold back on their opinions.

As a result, many people are questioning the casting process and how production finds the show's cast members. Love Is Blind's creator, Chris Coelen, gave more detail on how they vet the cast.

Obsessed with “Love Is Blind?” Us too. Let’s talk tea!

"We have a very rigid vetting process," Coelen said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. "We have background checks and psychological evaluations."

"If someone has children or doesn’t have children, that doesn’t preclude them from participating in the process. If someone has a bad relationship with their mother or someone’s had a certain sexual experience in the past or someone is in debt, all those things are very common for the vast majority of people," Coelen continued in the interview.

This season, during Tyler's conversation with Ashley, when he revealed that he has kids, it also seemed as if cameras came in halfway through the conversation, leaving out important details and confusing viewers.

Coelen explained to the Hollywood Reporter that the crew doesn't film 24/7. "We think it’s important that the participants have off-camera time as well as on-camera time. They need to really get the full picture of who one another is before they get to the altar and make a decision. So we try to help them have all kinds of experiences."
