Patrol Officer Sierra Alston has been suspended from the department after her arrest on Oct. 3.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A Prince George's County Police Department officer has been arrested for taking three rental cars from an airport rental facility at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) earlier this year.

According to court documents, the officer took the cars sometime between February 18 and April 9. Investigators were first made aware of the situation when SIXT Rental Corp. had reported that three of their cars had been recovered by repo agents at different locations in D.C. and Prince George's County. The rental company said no rental agreements could be found for any of the repossessed cars, and no one had permission to operate the cars.

The cars were towed back to the SIXT facility at DCA and searched. Police were looking for evidence of who may have taken them. A female PGPD jacket and personal documents were found inside the cars, documents say. Hospital discharge documents were also found, along with information from the car's infotainment system, which linked back to Alston's Instagram account.

Investigators learned from DC Police that Alston was at a local hospital on March 12, after her boyfriend had been assaulted. She used one of the rental cars to bring her boyfriend to the hospital, according to the documents. This was backed up by a police report at the time.

Investigators also used cellphone data to learn Alston was near DCA in the span of time when all three cars were taken.

The three cars were eventually recovered on April 9.

Alston was arrested and charged with three counts of unlawful use of a vehicle on Oct. 3. She has been suspended without pay, according to the police department.
