The victim, who's a house cleaner, told officers she was held at gunpoint and sexually assaulted while at work.
CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — The Charles County Sheriff's Office charged a Maryland man with rape and violent crimes.
On Friday, officers received a call just before 7:30 p.m. about a sexual assault that occurred along Tottenham Drive in White Plains.
The victim, who works as a house cleaner, told officers she was held at gunpoint and sexually assaulted while at work. She said while she was inside the home when one of the residents, identified as Jordan Keith Proctor, pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot her before handcuffing her.
Proctor is accused of sexually assaulting the victim and beating her over the course of several hours, before uncuffing her and letting her leave. She called 911 immediately, and once officers arrived Proctor was taken into custody.
During a search of the house, officers say they found a gun. First responders took the victim to the hospital where she was treated for multiple injuries, including a possible fractured jaw.
Proctor was released from custody the following Monday and placed on electronic monitoring. He is being charged with first-degree rape, first-degree assault, false imprisonment, use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
