WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a fight that ended with one man shot in Southeast, D.C. Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m., DC Police officers responded to the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, SE for a reported shooting. Once on scene, they found a man who had been shot, who was conscious and breathing.

The man was hospitalized for serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

Police believe that the man shot was originally assaulted by two men, pictured below, and during the fight, he wound up shot. Both the alleged suspects ran away.

MPD initially told WUSA9 the location of the shooting was near a U.S. Post Office but that it was unclear if it happened inside or not. A press release later clarified the shooting happened "inside an establishment" but did not specify if the establishment was the post office or another nearby business. WUSA9 has asked police for further details.

Anyone who can identify the people in the photo above, or has any information about this shooting, is asked to call DC Police at 202-727-9099 or text tips to 50411. MPD is offering reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
