The kidnapped teen was not injured, police said, but was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.

WASHINGTON — More than a month after a teen girl in Northwest D.C., on Tuesday police asked for the public's help identifying a suspect.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 1300 block of Longfellow Street, NW, for reports of a fight shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 26. When officers arrived, they saw a black SUV and gray sedan in the middle of a street with open doors and "at least three suspects."

When officers tried to approach the drivers, both sped away. The SUV hit several vehicles, including an MPD cruiser, while trying to escape.

Officers were told by witnesses that a 14-year-old girl was seen being forced into one of the vehicles, and an Amber Alert was declared just before 5 a.m. Friday.

Around 1 p.m. Friday, investigators say the teen and a masked man left a home in the 700 block of 31st Street, SE. The pair then sped away as law enforcement chased after them. The driver ran away after his car crashed along Southern Avenue, Southeast, at the border of D.C. and Prince George's County, Maryland.

The teen was not injured but was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.

On Tuesday, MPD released a new video of the unidentified suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives.
