The police department's Real-Time Crime Center has already released photos of the man wanted for the shooting.
WASHINGTON — Two people are in the hospital after being shot Wednesday afternoon. The Metropolitan Police Department's Real-Time Crime Center has already released surveillance images of the wanted man.
Officers were called to the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Southeast for a report of a shooting just after noon. Once on scene, they found two men had been shot. One man was taken to the hospital with injuries described as critical. The other was taken to the hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening. He was conscious and breathing when he was taken from the scene, police said.
Investigators are still searching for the person responsible. They were able to quickly share surveillance video of the suspected shooter via the police department's Real-Time Crime Center. Those images can be seen below.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been made public and the investigation is active and ongoing, police said.
