Police tell neighbors to shelter in place amid barricade in Langley Park

LANGLEY PARK, Md. — There's a large police presence in Langley Park on Friday morning as a man is believed to have barricaded himself in a home after a shooting, Prince George's County Police said.

The police department said the home on 17th Avenue in Langley Park is barricaded.

The residence is a single-family home, police said, and one man is believed to be inside. 

People inside the home were able to get out before the barricade without incident. The police department is asking nearby neighbors to shelter in place on the lowest level of their homes.

Merrimac Drive is closed between 14th Avenue and Keokee Street, and 14th Avenue is closed at Quebec Street.

There are no reported injuries at this time. No other details have been released.
