Hall of Fame coach Gregg Popovich has signed a five-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs, extending a tenure with the team that has spanned nearly three decades.

The contract is worth more than $80 million, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, resetting the coaching market. Monty Williams earlier this summer agreed to a six-year, $78.5 million deal with the Detroit Pistons.

Popovich, 74, is the winningest basketball coach of all time with 1,366 wins to go along with five championships. He first took over the Spurs in 1996.

The new contract comes weeks after the Spurs drafted Victor Wembanyama, who has been heralded as one of the best basketball prospects of all time.
