Ten of the 14 students facing criminal charges are between the ages of 13 and 16.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Ten students are being charged in connection to over 40 school-related threats made during the 2024-2025 school year.
The Prince George's County Police Department Homeland Security Division investigated 47 school-related threats and found 14 juveniles connected with these cases. Ten of the 14 students facing criminal charges are between the ages of 13 and 16.
The remaining four students accused of being connected to these cases can not be charged. Under Maryland law, a child under the age of 13 years may not be charged with a crime.
This is not the first arrest made this school year for school threats and police are investigating each one. People should be aware that any threat made against a school via social media, texts, forums etc. does come with criminal charges.
