Reneé Rapp Said Playing Leighton On "Sex Lives Of College Girls" Changed Her Life, After Revealing She's Exiting The Show

Earlier today, Deadline revealed Reneé will be exiting the popular Max show after its upcoming third season.

According to Deadline, Reneé is expected to be featured in a handful of episodes, but will not be considered a series regular in Season 3.

We last saw Reneé's character Leighton ending a toxic relationship with her judgmental girlfriend and coming out to her overly supportive dad.

And although we won't be seeing as much of her as we'd like, Reneé opened up on Twitter about how much it meant to her to play Leighton.

"College Girls moved me out to LA and introduced me to some of my favorite people," Reneé wrote. "It's given me y'all and this community."

"A lot of queer work gets belittled, but playing Leighton has changed my life. I love who I am 10x more than I did before knowing her."

Reneé said she hopes her character changed the lives of viewers, too. Even though she was only a "tiny part of representation" shown on screen, every part counts.

"I wouldn't be half the person I am without her and y'all. I love that bitch more than you know."

But don't worry! As we await the new season of The Sex Lives of College Girls and prepare ourselves to bid farewell to Leighton, fans can catch Reneé on her upcoming Snow Hard Feelings tour, which kicks off in August.
