WASHINGTON — Some residents in Northwest D.C. say a pick-up truck full of trash is causing unwanted odors, spills and it’s now attracting rodents and other animals.

For several weeks, neighbors tell WUSA9 a silver ford truck with what appears to be temporary license plates, has been sitting outside the 3400 block of Mt. Pleasant Street NW, since May.

Ken Morgan, who lives in the area, said the truck is usually parked outside, early in the morning or late at night. And almost always full with all kinds of trash.

“Food, waste, household trash bags. Open food containers, Stuffed trash bags, scraps of everything just thrown in the back of the truck." Morgan explained.

Leo Patrician, another resident, said he’s noticed the truck parked outside his home for about a week.

“My main concern is the rodents with the trash.” Patrician said.

When WUSA9 drove around the neighborhood Tuesday morning, but no truck was found.

Morgan said he last saw it Tuesday morning before WUSA9 crews arrived. Morgan said he’s reached out to the city several times.

WUSA9 called DC Public Works, they said they were investigating.

WUSA9 crews did speak to a parking enforcement officer who was in the neighborhood looking for the truck as well. The enforcement officer told WUSA9 they didn’t find anything but they said they would check again on Wednesday.
