Police said when the woman got out of her car to check on Naquel Henderson, he claimed that she hit him and demanded that she give him money.
WASHINGTON — A man is in custody for allegedly robbing a woman after crashing a scooter into her car in Northeast D.C.
On Tuesday, D.C. Police announced the arrest of 26-year-old Naquel Henderson in an incident that took place Monday afternoon. On June 24, officers were called to the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue, NE after a woman told them that Henderson ran into her car with a scooter.
According to police, the victim was driving along Maryland Ave. when Henderson ran into her car with a scooter. When the woman got out of her car to check on Henderson, he claimed that she hit him and demanded that she give him money.
When she refused, Henderson allegedly stole her purse and ran away. Police say an officer witnessed the entire incident, allowing them to catch up to Henderson and place him under arrest. Police found a firearm on Henderson during the time of his arrest.
Henderson is being charged with robbery while armed, carrying a pistol without a license, and possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeding device.
