Thousands of people attended a vigil at the school Friday night to honor three alumni who were killed in a crash last weekend.
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Police are investigating a shooting outside an Upper Marlboro high school Friday night.
According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the shooting happened outside Wise High School.
Two people were wounded in the shooting, only identified as a man and a woman. Both were taken to an area hospital. The police department says the woman is in stable condition, while the man was critically wounded.
Very little information is available regarding the shooting at this time, including any possible motive or what may have happened in the moments leading up to the shooting.
Police have not released any information regarding the shooters at this time, however, officials have confirmed that a gun was found in the area.
WUSA9 Alexis Wainwright was at the school to attend a vigil held for three Wise High School alumni who were killed in a car crash last weekend. Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson and two of his former high school teammates – Isaiah Hazel and Anthony "AJ" Lytton Jr. – were killed in a crash when a speeding, possibly drunk driver crashed an Infiniti into their car.
Police have not connected the vigil to the shooting.
