"Peter Parker can bring his baby into a multiversal battle with Spider-dinosaurs and talking pigs, but GOD FORBID a woman is fighting while pregnant."
Marvel is about to make history with the new Spider-Man movie — which is set to feature a pregnant Spider-Woman.
While Spider-Woman, aka Jessica Drew, has been pregnant in her comic book series, it'll be one of the first times a pregnant superhero is actively fighting crime on the big screen.
The whole thing was unveiled in a new clip from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that was shared in honor of Mother's Day.
"Super moms doing superhero things," the studio captioned the video.

In the clip, Gwen Stacy asks Spider-Woman if she's pregnant, to which she responds, "Oh, this? We don't know the sex yet, my husband wants it to be surprise. He's really corny, but so hot."
And while it's pretty impressive that Spider-Woman is able to fight crime throughout her pregnancy, some people actually have a problem with it.
According to some folks out there, Spider-Woman is putting her baby at risk while saving the city — and that's just not okay with them.
Numerous tweets called out the studio for putting an "unborn baby in danger" in the movie and being a "bad influence to pregnant" people who watch.
Meanwhile, most other people were more reasonable about the whole thing, pointing out that the film is literally a fictional cartoon.
suspension of disbelief is kinda wild cause people can suspend their disbelief enough to see a talking pig with spider powers fighting but not enough for a pregnant woman with spider powers fighting https://t.co/c7BHngV2SZ

The outrage over a pregnant spider woman is insane because there’s a T Rex that shoots webs in a spiderman mask and Peter B Parker had a whole toddler on his chest in the first trailer and there was nothing but 🦗🦗🦗

People who have a problem with Jessica being pregnant here don’t see pregnant women as people. Just incubators. It’s not ‘empowering’ because she’s pregnant & it’s not negligent either. It’s just her existing in her usual life while pregnant which is what all women have to do. https://t.co/JXnn93FAno

people showing more performative concern over Jessica’s unborn fetus than the actual living baby Peter brought with him is very funny in a kind of “life imitates art imitates life” way https://t.co/jhnk0l3kKk

People are about to watch a multiverse movie with Spider People who can swing from building to building, and the most unrealistic thing is a pregnant Spider-Woman💀

There’s no way I’m genuinely seeing people complain over the practicality of Spider-Woman fighting while pregnant… IT’S A FUCKING ANIMATED MOVIE ABOUT SPIDER POWERED THINGS THERE IS A SPIDER HORSE AND CAT FOR FUCKSAKE!!!!!
Like y’all always wanna be mad about something😐 pic.twitter.com/pryO618IkY

All of a sudden y’all are OB/GYNs on the health and safety of this FICTIONAL character’s baby.
Like a universe where everyone thwips around and has “spider” in their name is plausible but a pregnant superhero is where you put on your “this isn’t realistic” hat on? https://t.co/Jnfl5X81mr
