SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Spotsylvania County sheriffs on Thursday arrested a school bus aide who allegedly inappropriately touched three young children with disabilities.

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office's Child Victim Unit arrested 22-year-old Miguel Velasquez Velasco of Fredericksburg on the evening of Sept. 26 for the alleged sex offenses committed earlier in the day. He has been charged with eight counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child, two counts of indecent liberties of a child while in a custodial role, and a single count of attempted sodomy of a child.  The victims are reported to be between 4 to 5 years of age.

Detectives did not identify the school, but say they worked with the school administration to obtain "substantial evidence" and identify Velasquez Velasco as the suspect. He is being held in the Rappahannock Regional Jail on no bond.

Detectives say Velasquez Velasco is a current lawful permanent resident and has no known criminal record. No further information has been released at this time and the case is still under investigation.
