FAIRFAX, Va. — Police are asking for the public's help finding the people they say stole more than $100,000 in handbags from a store Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, the theft happened at a store in Tysons. Officers were called to the 2000 block of International Drive just before 3:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers learned two men and three women walked into a store and began grabbing numerous handbags. During the robbery, police say one of the men discharged a fire extinguisher at employees to help get away.
No injuries were reported and officers say the thieves got away with more than $100,000 worth of merchandise.
Investigators released surveillance camera images of the suspects, who reportedly left as a group in a white Alfa Romeo, a luxury Italian sports car. Detectives believe the plates on the vehicle have been stolen or altered in some way but did not go into further detail.
