Timeline: More showers and storms Saturday afternoon

Plan all of your outdoor Saturday activities to be finished around 3 p.m.

WASHINGTON — If you have outdoor plans for dinner this weekend, you may want to reschedule. WUSA9 has issued a Weather Impact Alert for Saturday due to scattered showers and storms.

  • Timeline: Dry until 3 or 4 p.m. Best chance of showers and storms in the Metro will be between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

  • Plan all of your outdoor Saturday activities to be finished around 3 p.m. Saturday morning will be humid but dry, so early golf tee times and pickleball games are safe. We have a low risk of severe weather.

You can also expect a humid but dry mid-morning.

Additionally, lunchtime and brunch-time look ok around noon as well.

However, showers and storms fire up first along the I-81 corridor between 1 and 3 p.m.

By evening, showers and storms could interfere with your cookout plans in the Metro.

Saturday evening outdoor plans will need a back-up plan as the coverage of the showers and storms increases. Download the WUSA9 app and track the storms with us. Allow push notifications so if the storms become severe you will receive warnings on your phone.

Not as hot Saturday but we still need to remember to stay hydrated.
