Train crashes into car parked on train tracks in Northeast

Train carrying passengers hit an unoccupied car that was on the tracks, officials said.

WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — DC Fire is investigating a crash involving a train in Northeast.

According to DC Fire and EMS' X account, formerly known as Twitter, the accident took place Thursday morning in the 3600 block of New York Avenue behind the Washington Times building. Officials clarify a train carrying passengers hit an unoccupied car that was on the tracks. 

The train did not derail, and there were no injuries reported. 

Very little information has been released at this time as officials continue to investigate the crash.
