"Truly A Catastrophe" – 18 Movies We Really Really Wanted To Enjoy, But Simply Couldn't

3 weeks ago 10

"I love horror, and at the time all my friends said it was the scariest movie they've ever seen. Everything about that movie for me was just so by the numbers, like someone gave the director a checklist about what's needed to make a supernatural horror film and it took away so much of the scares for me.

I still remember to this day I told my friend that they're going to do three fake jump scares in a row and the fourth one will be the real one but we'll see it coming. Sure enough, that's what happened, I rolled my eyes, and my friend called me a douche for spoiling a part of a movie I hadn't seen yet. Also thrift store Darth Maul is all I saw when the creature came out. Maybe if it was my first horror film or if I didn't see multiple of them throughout my life I would have enjoyed it more, but man what a letdown."
