Arizona has 11 electoral college points, putting the final tally for Trump at 312 to Harris' 226.
ARIZONA, USA — CBS News projects President-elect Donald Trump will win the state of Arizona, flipping a state he lost in 2020 and completing a sweep of the seven states considered battlegrounds over Vice President Kamala Harris.
Arizona has 11 electoral college points, putting the final tally for Trump at 312 to Harris' 226. This marks the largest margin of victory by a Republican presidential candidate since 1988, when George H.W. Bush became president. The electoral college is expected to meet in December to officially cast its votes.
Arizona was one of the seven states where polling between Trump and Harris had been within the margin-of-error, with pollsters at some points putting Trump in the lead and at other times placing Harris ahead. As of Saturday night Trump held 53% of the state's vote to Harris' 46%. However, 13% of the state's vote total still has not been counted.
Trump had lost the Grand Canyon State in 2020 to Joe Biden, who won by about 11,000 votes that year. Biden's win had marked the first time since 1996 that a Democratic candidate for president won Arizona.
In the U.S. Senate race, in Arizona, Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego leads Republican former TV news anchor Kari Lake, but election officials are still tallying the votes. Neither candidate has been projected the winner in that race. The candidates are vying to replace Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who did not seek reelection.
