UTA has promoted Mike Rubi to Co-Head of Production Arts. He is now leading the division alongside Pete Franciosa.

Rubi’s personal clients include award-winning second unit director / stunt coordinator George Cottle, who has become Christopher Nolan’s go-to for stunts and has been involved with “X-Men: First Class,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Insterstellar,” “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer,” as well as executive producer Tommy Gormley, who frequently works with J.J. Abrams and has worked on “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning,” “Sonic the Hedgehog” and “Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker,” among others.

Rubi hails from South Lyon, Mich. and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his law degree and master’s degree from Syracuse University.

Rubi has spent the majority of his career at UTA, starting in the mailroom in 2001 upon graduating from law school. After two weeks, he joined the production arts department as an assistant and was quickly promoted to coordinator before joining the business affairs team. He later went on to lead the business affairs division until he took on his current role, where he has since grown the production arts department to co-lead the team of 18 agents.

UTA’s Production Arts division represents cinematographers, producers, costume designers, second unit directors, assistant directors, stunt coordinators, editors, choreographers, production designers, visual effects supervisors and producers, hair and makeup artists and more. They work across all visual media, from film and television to music videos and commercials.

“We are pleased to announce Mike Rubi as Co-Head of UTA’s Production Arts division,” commented UTA partner & co-head of motion picture literary Julien Thuan. “Mike’s dedication and work on behalf of our wide range of clients has helped make UTA the leader in this space. He’s forged an accomplished path from the mailroom to this new role and we look forward to seeing how he and co-head Pete Franciosa continue to shape the business.”
