Police are now searching for at least seven persons of interest for the assault and robbery.
WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help finding a group of people who assaulted a person before robbing them in Northwest D.C. last month. At least a portion of the attack was caught on camera.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the attack happened in the 1100 block of Vermont Avenue, Northwest on July 30.
Officers say the victim was standing in the area when just after 2:30 a.m., they were approached by a stranger who pulled them into the street. The victim was then surrounded by more people.
The person who pulled the victim into the street demanded money and began checking the victim's pocket.
The victim was assaulted by the group before they robbed them and ran away with the stolen property. Police say the victim was injured but refused treatment from DC Fire and EMS.
Police are now searching for at least seven persons of interest.
MPD released a video of the alleged assault and robbery Monday evening, asking for anyone with information on who the suspects are to call investigators.
