Victoria Beckham Gets Her Own Docuseries at Netflix

Victoria Beckham has landed her own Netflix docuseries after her scene-stealing appearance in her husband’s last year.

The as yet untitled docuseries will follow Victoria’s journey from Spice Girls superstardom in the ‘90s to modern fashion maven.

“Her Posh Spice days may be behind her, but today Beckham is on a journey to build a fashion empire — and now, fans will be able to see the story behind it all,” reads the logline.

The doc promises appearances from Victoria and her family including friends and colleagues. It will be produced by husband David Beckham’s production company Studio 99 (who also produced his documentary “Beckham”) in association with Dorothy St Pictures.

A director has not yet been confirmed.

Victoria was the break-out star of “Beckham,” particularly a scene in which David pushes her to admit she was not working class and was in fact dropped off at school in a limousine, an exchange which has since become a bona fide meme.

Last year “Beckham” director Fisher Stevens told Variety he spent 14 hours interviewing Victoria for her husband’s documentary, which followed the soccer star’s climb from aspiring athlete to footballing and fashion icon.

“It hasn’t all been rosy with his relationship with Victoria. There’s constant controversy,” Stevens said, obliquely referring to rumors of David’s affairs, which were only briefly touched on in “Beckham.” But Stevens added: “Frankly, I was quite moved by their relationship at the end of the day, and — after all they’ve been through — how much they love each other, and how close they are.”

Nicola Howson (“Beckham”) executive produces the Victoria Beckham doc alongside Julia Nottingham (“Pamela: A Love Story”).

The Victoria Beckham documentary was announced during a Netflix panel at Edinburgh TV festival. During the panel the team also unveiled documentaries about chef Gordon Ramsay, 90s boy band Take That, the 7/7 London bombings and sports promoters.
