WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the thieves who broke into a high-end clothing store in Northeast D.C. by forcing the store's gate up and crawling inside.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the burglary happened on Sept. 10 at A Ma Maniere in the 1200 block of H Street Northeast.

A Ma Maniere is a retail store that specializes in luxury men's clothing, shoes and accessories. Officers said shortly after midnight on Sept. 10, a group forced their way into the closed business and stole several pieces of high-end clothes. A police report estimated the thieves got away with around $50,000 worth of merchandise.

More than two months later, MPD released surveillance video of the burglary, which shows an unknown number of suspects forcing the business' gate up, while others crawled into the business through broken glass shattered on the ground. Once inside, the thieves grabbed as much clothing as they could carry before crawling back outside.

One minute into the 90-second video, six of the thieves crash into each other while trying to escape through the small space.

Once outside with the goods, some of the thieves got away in cars, going in several different directions, while others ran away.
