Look for daily rain chances starting Tuesday.
WASHINGTON — We're trading the extreme heat for rain during the week, with multiple rain chances and highs eventually getting back to the 80s.
What: rain and thunderstorm chances. Rain could be very heavy at times. Strong storms will be possible.
When: Tuesday-Saturday
Impact: slower traffic during commutes when storms are present. Reduced visibility under heavy rain. Outdoor plans may have to be moved indoors. Flooding possible.
Need To Know: Be prepared for slower commutes. Avoid driving over flooded roads. Keep your devices charged. Be ready to take shelter indoors when storms arrive.
The WUSA Weather Team is monitoring an active weather pattern, with rain chances almost every day of the week. A front will linger around the region, keeping rain chances at play. Tropical moisture from what will be left of Debby could enhance our rain chances, as it moves north of Florida. This will increase the risk of heavy rain and could lead to flooding in some neighborhoods.
Between Tuesday and Saturday, the region could pick up 1 to 3 inches of rain, with isolated higher amounts.
Highs will fall to the 80s starting Wednesday.
