Which TV Adaptations Are Actually BETTER Than The Book?

As a book lover, there's nothing worse than a TV adaptation that absolutely butchers a story you love. Sometimes, however, the onscreen version is actually better than the book.

For example, IMO, Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire is a pretty good book, but the AMC+ TV series updates and reimagines it in a way that's so captivating. I hated both Louis and Lestat in the book, but I love them both in the show.

And Douglas Adams's Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is quite a whacky book, but the 2016 BBC America show veered enough from the source material to make a solid series without being too absurd.

And I LOVED the 2011 Freeform series The Nine Lives of Chloe King, but when I tried to read the book series by Liz Braswell, I just couldn't get into it.
