Users report not being able to log in to their Xbox Live accounts, effectively locking them out of playing most games.
NEW YORK — An Xbox Live outage on Tuesday frustrated gamers as many were unable to access their account or play any games that require signing in, affecting most games and apps.
Xbox said in replies on social media that it is aware of the problem and is investigating, but that the investigation was taking longer than expected. The outage was first reported just after 2 p.m. ET and was ongoing as of 6 p.m. ET.
Xbox has not identified what's causing the outage.
According to the Xbox status page, users "may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems."
