A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man on Christmas Day in Staffordshire.
The 33-year-old was arrested after the man died in the village of Norton Canes in the early hours of the morning.
Staffordshire Police said its officers were called to reports of a man in his 30s suffering a cardiac arrest.
Despite the efforts of emergency respondents at the scene, he died shortly afterwards.
The alleged crime happened in the village near the town of Cannock at around 3.25am.
The man's family have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
The woman, who police say is local to Cannock, is being questioned in custody.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out on Boxing Day morning, police added.
A police scene remains at the address while officers continue their investigation and it is expected to stay in place for a number of days.
The force also said in a statement that local residents will see an increased police presence in the area as they provide reassurance to the public and gather evidence.
