CAMP SPRINGS, Md. — Residents living in the Camp Springs area of Prince George's County are being asked to limit their water consumption.
The WSSC Water is making the request in an attempt to avoid a boil water advisory. Work being done on the water main is impacting the flow to the Camp Springs water storage tank. Officials are asking that the water be preserved for fire protection in the future.
As of now, about 1,366 customers in Camp Springs are being impacted by this urgent essential water use. By limiting water use, the area could avoid a potential Boil Water Advisory.
WSSC has shared a link to their interactive map to help residents see if they are in the affected area.
Until further notice, all customers are being asked to:
- Stop all outside water use – no watering lawns, no washing cars, no topping off swimming pools.
- Use water only as necessary – i.e., take shorter showers and quickly turn off faucets immediately after use.
- Limit flushing toilets (do not flush after every use).
- Limit using washing machines and dishwashers.
