49er Ricky Pearsall shot in San Francisco during attempted robbery

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco 49ers first-round draft pick Ricky Pearsall was shot Saturday in an attempted robbery at Union Square in San Francisco, according to San Francisco ABC-affiliate KGO.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed says San Francisco police arrested the shooter immediately.

“My thoughts are with Ricky and his family at this time. We will provide more updates, including on his condition, as I receive them,” said Breed on X.

Pearsall's condition was not immediately available, nor was information about the suspect, according to KGO.

Pearsall was drafted in the first round by the 49ers in the 2024 NFL draft after playing for the University of Florida.
