“Superagent” Don Buchwald, longtime agent to Howard Stern and founder of the talent agency Buchwald, died Tuesday in his New York home. He was 88.

“I promised my father that the incredible agency he built from the ground up 47 years ago will not only continue to flourish but will evolve as we forge our path ahead,” wrote his daughter Julia Buchwald in a statement. “I, along with my devoted teammates, intend to keep this promise and make Don proud.”

Buchwald is best known for being the agent to the loud-mouthed radio personality Stern, who has been his client since 1984. Stern would coin the nickname “Superagent” for Buchwald, who was a close friend and collaborator, and would often refer to him as such on episodes of “The Howard Stern Show.”
