WASHINGTON — As temperatures in the District plunge, the city has issued a Hypothermia Alert, activating cold weather emergency protocols to protect residents without adequate shelter. The District offers several resources to ensure everyone has a warm and safe place to stay during these frigid conditions.

Hypothermia/Cold Emergency Alert Night Shelters for Women
- Harriet Tubman Shelter at 1910 Massachusetts Avenue SE
- Patricia Handy Place for Women at 810 5th Street NW
- St. Josephine Bahkita at 6010 Georgia Avenue NW
- Eve’s Place at 2210B Adams Place NE
- Hypothermia Swing Space at 1009 11th Street NW
- Community for Creative Non-violence (CCNV)-2 South at 425 2nd Street NW

According to a spokesperson from DC's Department of Human Services, additional sites may be added later in the season if the shelter system reaches 80% capacity.
