Steve & Kate's Camp through Bright Horizons is hosting field trip camps to help parents make it the polls.

WASHINGTON — With Election Day around the corner, one local company is helping to make sure D.C. and Arlington parents can make it to the polls.

Bright Horizons is offering a field trip day camp for kids through Steve & Kate's Camp.

Parents have the opportunity to drop their children off for the day, so childcare concerns do not impede their ability to make it to a voting center -- since many kids do not have school on Tuesday.

“We are part of the backup care network at Bright Horizons, which is employer-sponsored care for times that regular care either breaks down or when there are not really easy options to access" VP of Steve and Kate's Camp of Bright Horizons. "One of our privileges is to come up with solutions for families for these pesky days that are hard to fill in...Of the 85 some odd days that we operate in the DMV area in a year, this might be the most important day to be available for folks.”

Some of the activities they have planned for the kids include the Fairlington Park Playground, the Chevy Chase Playground, the Museum of Natural History, and Dave & Busters.

Saperstein said the company is offering these Election Day field trips in five other cities across the country as well.

In D.C. and Arlington, each field trip will host 30 to 40 kids.

“It goes without saying that being able to vote is an incredibly important duty for all Americans," Saperstein said. "It's our privilege … to make that a little bit easier for parents, so that you don't have to make a difficult choice between voting and watching their kids during the day when they may be off of school as many are.”

Over the course of a year, Saperstein said they work with upwards of 3,000 kids.

He says Tuesday’s field trips in particular feel especially important.

There are still spaces open for Tuesday’s D.C. and Arlington camps.

The Bright Horizons team said there are still spaces available in both camps. You can check to see if you qualify on their website.

When it comes to early in-person voting, you can do that in D.C. at any one of the 25 centers through Sunday.

Early in-person voting ends in Virginia on Saturday.
