LEESBURG, Va. — A newly sworn in judge in Loudoun County was arrested for public intoxication over the Labor Day weekend. The Leesburg Police Department announced the arrest Saturday.
Charles F. Koehler Jr. was taken into custody by Leesburg Police officers around 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 31.
Police say the judge was walking down the Leesburg Bypass near South King Street when police stopped him and spoke to him. He was taken into custody without incident. He was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he was released on his own recognizance.
The judge was sworn in as a juvenile and domestic relations court judge in Loudoun County on Aug. 23, according to the county bar association. Additional details were not immediately available.
