At least six victims have come forward.
WASHINGTON — A man is facing multiple charges for assaulting women in Northwest, D.C.
Police say 33-year-old Ayotomiwa Babalola was arrested and charged with simple assault Tuesday after a woman reported she had been assaulted along Irving Street just before 3:30 p.m. Officers watched him attempt to run away and were able to apprehend him and take him into custody.
Additional investigation revealed Babalola assaulted several other women the day prior. He is charged with five counts of misdemeanor sexual abuse for the following offenses that occurred on Monday:
- At 9 a.m., the victim, a teenage girl, was walking in the 3100 block of 14th Street, Northwest, when the suspect, a stranger, approached her and touched her without her consent.
- At 10:25 a.m., the victim, a woman, was walking in the 1300 block of L Street, Northwest, when the suspect, a stranger, approached her and touched her without her consent.
- At 10:28 a.m. the victim, a woman, was walking at 13th Street and K Street, Northwest, when the suspect, a stranger, approached her and touched her without her consent.
- At 11:00 a.m., the victim, a woman, was walking in the 300 block of F Street, Northwest, when the suspect, a stranger, approached her and touched her without her consent.
- At approximately 12:30 p.m., the victim was walking in the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest, when the suspect, a stranger, approached her and touched her without her consent.
