Man wanted for groping UMD student walking on campus

At this time, the university is offering safety tips and resources.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — A search is underway for a man who allegedly groped a student walking across campus Saturday.

The assault was reported on the University of Maryland campus.

Just after 11 a.m., a woman reported to police that she was walking along College Avenue, near the intersection of Princeton Avenue and College Avenue, when a man approached her and began asking questions. During this interaction, the suspect touched her inappropriately. The suspect then ran down College Avenue and onto the hiker biker trail.
The University of Maryland Police Department, Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating this alleged groping.
