ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Those heading toward the Bay Bridge Wednesday morning should plan for a slowdown. A serious crash on U.S. 50 in Anne Arundel County has closed eastbound lanes.
Anne Arundel County Police first responded to a report of a crash with injury around 5:20 a.m. While police are conducting their investigation, U.S. 50 is closed from Route 2 to Rowe Boulevard (Exit 24) in Annapolis. Police say an extended closure is expected and drivers should use alternate routes.
Police are still working to figure out exactly what happened. Authorities have not released any details about the circumstances surrounding the crash, how many vehicles were involved, how many people were hurt or the severity of those injuries.
WUSA9 traffic specialist Lindsey Nance recommends drivers should use Route 450 (West Street) to get around the crash scene.
Police did not provide an estimate for when lanes would reopen. We are working to confirm more details. We will update this story when we have them.
