CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — Calvert County deputies are investigating after a pursuit led to a deadly crash Saturday night in Chesapeake Beach.
The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General has launched an investigation surrounding the circumstances of the crash since it involved a deputy.
Just before 9 p.m., a deputy from the Calvert County Sheriff's Office was in a marked police cruiser parked near Route 261 and 17th Street in Chesapeake Beach when a driver in a gold Mustang sped past, heading southbound on Route 261.
