Teen shot on train during robbery

Officials say, during the robbery the victim of the robbery was shot by one of the robbers.

WASHINGTON — The Metro Transit Police are investigating a robbery turned shooting in D.C. 

Police were called to the Gallery Place Metro Train station just before 11 p.m. on Saturday. Reports came in about a group of teens involved in a possible robbery aboard a train. Officials say, during the robbery the victim was shot by one of the robbers.

The victim was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition at last check Sunday afternoon. The victim's identity, including information about their age, gender, or name has not been released at this time.

At this time an arrest has not been made and information on suspects has not been released.

During this robbery, police say another group of teens were seen around Navy Yard. In an attempt to keep order, the entrance at New Jersey Ave. into Navy Yard Station was closed. Once the crowd of teens left the New Jersey entrance re-opened. 

Police say the two incidents are unrelated.
