U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested the 15-year-old, who will face charges as an adult.
SILVER SPRING, Md. — A teen wanted in connection with a Memorial Day double homicide in Silver Spring was arrested at Dulles International Airport on Monday, and police say he will be charged with murder as an adult.
Montgomery County Department of Police say, officers identified 15-year-old Onyx Santana Austin, of Silver Spring, as the suspect in a double homicide of two 20-year-old men on May 26, in Nolte Local Park.
During the investigation, police say they linked evidence to Austin, who had left the country after the fatal shooting. Police did not specify which country he traveled to or why he returned.
Police say they issued a warrant for his arrest on Monday and Austin was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection when he returned to the United States. He has been charged as an adult with two counts of second-degree murder. Austin is currently awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.
