The Nintendo Switch has become one of the most popular consoles. In fact, the gaming company sold more than 139 million units since its release in 2017. It’s so popular that Nintendo released the Switch Lite, a smaller and lighter handheld-only version of the console, a few years later in 2019.
Cut to 2024: Walmart has the Nintendo Switch Lite (in gray) on sale for $168, or nearly 20% off its list price. While this doesn’t seem like the deepest of discounts, it’s actually this model of the console’s all-time lowest price ever. And since Nintendo rarely puts their consoles on sale, this is a very good deal, indeed.
Unlike the regular Switch, the Nintendo Switch Lite doesn’t include detachable Joy-Con controllers, while it doesn’t connect to a TV and its display is smaller at 5.5 inches instead of 7 inches. But, one of its biggest draws is that it includes an actual D-Pad controller instead of a four action buttons that mimics a D-Pad, like on the regular Switch.
Aside from that, it’s pretty much the same console as the larger Nintendo Switch, but more compact and portable. It can also play nearly all of the same games, including “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” “Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” “Princess Peach Showtime!,” “WarioWare: Move It!” and others.
Meanwhile, Nintendo just released new gaming bundles for the holiday season. The gaming company dropped a new Nintendo Switch Lite: Hyrule Edition, which is priced at $207 at Walmart. It comes with a gold Switch Lite that’s been adorned with symbols from “The Legend of Zelda,” as well as a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online: Expansion Pack (a $49.99 value) for cloud gaming, online multiplayer, access to NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced and Sega Genesis games and other perks.
In the meantime, the Nintendo Switch Lite (in gray) is on sale for $168 (reg. $199.99) at Walmart.
