Tony Awards Returning to Radio City Music Hall as 2025 Ceremony Sets June Date

The Tony Awards will return to Radio City Music Hall for the show’s 78th edition.

It’s the first time that the annual celebration of the best of Broadway has been held at the Midtown Manhattan venue since 2022 — a ceremony which marked its post-COVID return. In the ensuing two years, the Tonys were held at The United Palace in Washington Heights and at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theatre. Neither location can match Radio City’s nearly 6,000 seats — United Palace has a capacity of 3,350 and the David H. Koch Theatre has a capacity of 2,586.

At last year’s ceremony, “The Outsiders” was named best musical, while “Merrily We Roll Along” won best musical revival. Best play went to “Stereophonic,” while “Appropriate” won best revival of a play. For shows, the broadcast is a chance to perform splashy musical numbers in front of millions of viewers — exposure that can boost ticket sales.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast live to both coasts, on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET on the CBS Television Network. As it has in recent years, the show will also stream on Paramount+. The awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. They are produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, and White Cherry Entertainment. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss are executive producers and showrunners for White Cherry Entertainment. Weiss will serve as director. Jack Sussman is also an executive producer.
