Investigators have identified a person of interest. That person is expected to face charges.
BLADENSBURG, Md. — A 64-year-old woman has been identified as a victim in deadly hit-and-run crash along Bladensburg Road.
Susan Woodard, of Washington, D.C., was killed after getting hit by a driver on Aug. 20.
Police have also identified a person of interest in the crash. That person is expected to be brought into custody and charged in the near future. It is unclear what charges they face.
On Aug. 20, just before 11:30 p.m., investigators with the Bladensburg Police Department along with the Prince George’s County Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to Bladensburg Road for a report of someone getting hit by a driver. Officers found a woman lying in the roadway once there. She was taken to an area hospital for help with her injuries and later pronounced dead.
The driver that hit her did not stay at the scene. A person of interest has been identified in connection with the crash.
